Lightsaber training classes with Saber Guild Kessel Temple
Join the Jedi of Kessel Temple as they teach younglings between ages 5-11 the mysteries of the Force, and how to use a lightsaber! Classes run about 30 minutes, and all training materials will be provided. The kid training program will be held on Saturday and Sunday at 1:30PM.

Are you a mature teen or adult that wants to learn how to wield a lightsaber and perform safe stage combat? Then join Saber Guild on Saturday at 11:30AM for Adult Lightsaber Training! The Jedi of Kessel Temple will take you through the basics and you’ll be looking like Obi-Wan in no time! Space is limited, so show up early to reserve a spot!

“Cosplay: A History” with Andrew Liptak – Saturday, 12:00 pm
Vermont author and cosplayer Andrew Liptak will be discussing the history of the hobby that has captured the imagination of millions across the globe. His panel will be held Saturday, June 25th at 12 pm.

Cosplay Red Carpet/Group Photoshoot – Saturday and Sunday, 1:00 pm
Cosplayers unite! This is your chance to show off your favorite costumes, whether it’s store bought or homemade, strike a pose in front of the camera and show us what you got! Stick around until the end for one big group shot! The cosplay red carpet will take place Saturday, June 25th and Sunday, June 26th at 1 pm.

Disney Princess Sing-Along! – Saturday, 2:00 pm and Sunday, 1:30 pm
Give your children the opportunity to sing and dance along with some of their favorite Disney Princesses! Princesses from the Ever After Storybook Entertainment group will be performing some of the latest Disney hits. This will be an experience the young princes and princesses in your lives won’t want to miss! Sing along with us Saturday, June 25th at 2 pm and Sunday, June 26th at 1:30 pm.

Giant Robots with Joshua Nye – Saturday, 3:00 pm and Sunday 11:00 am
Learn about the history of giant robots, Vermont’s giant robot competition this fall, how you can build your own giant robot and compete! Joshua will be hosting his panel Saturday, June 25th at 3 pm, and Sunday, June 26th at 11 am.

Cosplay Contest: Calling all cosplayers! – Sunday, 12:00 pm
Now is your chance to put your skills to the test and show off your hard work in front of a crowd! Sign up for Rail City Fan Fest’s first ever cosplay contest where you can compete against and learn from other local cosplayers! Sign ups will be at the door when you enter the convention. Make sure to read up on all the divisions and division specific rules below to properly prepare yourself for glory! Our first ever cosplay contest will be held Sunday, June 26th at 12 pm.

Creating Comics 101 hosted by Michael Waggoner – Saturday, 4:00 – 5:00 pm
A crash course in making comics from concept to completion. Michael has 30 pluus years of comic creating (writing, editing, drawing, inking, coloring, and lettering) and publishing (Freefall Press, Comics United, Ravenfish Studios, and Nerd Nation, editing over 200 for Lucky Comics alone, and 20 years of working in a comic shop and promoting comic cons. In this panel, attendees will learn the steps of creating and producing their own comics. From start to finish. Beginning with concepts and scripts, then moving on to various stages of art, editing, and production, and ending with printing and publishing. A Q&A session will conclude the panel. Michael will be hosting a portfolio review panel Sunday, June 26 from 2:50 – 3:50 pm.
